Grouping Your Organisations

Once an organisation has accepted your connection request then the organisation will be added to your list of organisations available from within the Organisations menu on the platform. You can group your organisations together to make it easy to find and categorise how you know an organisation. Note that the groups can only be seen by you and not any of the organisations. By default after signing up to the platform the following groups would have been created for you:

  • Charities - Organisations that are non-for-profit.
  • Employers - Organisations that you work for.
  • Entertainment - Organisations that provide entertainment for you.
  • Local Organisations - Organisations that exist within your local community.
  • Purchasers - Organisations that buy goods and services off you.
  • Recreation - Organisations the provide you with recreational activities, such as sporting clubs, .
  • Service Providers - Organisations that provide services for you, such as electricity companies, or internet providers.
  • Suppliers - Organisations that you buy products from.
  • Unassigned Organisations - Organisations that have not been assigned to any group.

You can change the labels of these default groups, as well as deleted them, and add new organisation groups.

Data Sharing Policies

For each organisation group you can assign a "data sharing policy". Each policy determines the information about yourself that can be seen by the organisations you've assigned to the group. For example in your "Employers" contact group you could assign a data sharing policy that allows your employment organisation assigned to it to see all your personal information about yourself, where as for the "Charities" group you could assign a policy that allows chosen charitable organisations to see only your name, email address, and phone number. Using data sharing policies allows you to have great control over the information you choose to share with organisations.
