Notifications

After signing up and logging into the SQUIZZ.com platform you will be able a receive a wide variety of notifications as you use the platform and interact with people and organisations. These notifications can keep you informed of a wide variety of things occurring within the platform, such as new messages posted by other people in conversations, requests by people to connect with you, new posts people have posted in feeds, notifications related to employment and organisations that you are connected to. Additionally you can receive notifications from external business software and services connected with the platform.

Notifications Overview

Within SQUIZZ.com there are two broad types of notifications that you can receive after logging into the platform, these are "Personal Notifications" and "Organisation Notifications". Both types of notifications can be seen once logged into the platform. Within the main menu, under each menu icon either yellow or black circles will appear when there is one or more new notifications to look at. Upon clicking on a notification circle a notifications menu will display and show you one or more notifications associated with a notification category.

Personal Notifications

Personal notifications advise of events, actions, and requests that relate to you on a personal, individual level. Think of personal notifications as information that you need to know in your private life.

Notification Categories

Personal notifications a spread across the following categories:

  • Personal Contact Notifications
    Notifications that relate to other people connecting with you.
     
  • Personal Organisation Notifications
    Notifications associated with organisations interacting with you on a personal level, such as accepting your requests to connect with an organisation.
     
  • Personal Conversation Notifications
    Notifications related to conversations you are personally involved in. These notifications include adding you to conversations, new messages being posted within a conversation, people uploading attachment files to a conversation, as well as people liking or acknowledging ("ACK") your conversation messages.
     
  • Personal Feed Notifications
    Notifications related to news and feeds that you are personally following. These notifications advise of new posts that have been posted within feeds that you are following, any comments or activity made on posts and comments that you have added to an organisation's feed, as well as invitations to follow private feeds.
     
  • Personal Basket Notifications
    Notifications associated to with baskets that you have created personally.
     
  • Personal Account Notifications
    Notifications associated with customer accounts and supplier accounts that have been assigned to you on a personal basis. These notifications include you being assigned or unassigned from accounts, and information related to the accounts that you use to purchase goods and services from organisations.
     
  • Personal Purchase Order Notifications
    Notifications related to purchase orders that you have been personally assigned to or created. These notifications relate to purchases that you have made within the SQUIZZ.com platform.
     
  • Personal Sales Order Notifications
    Notifications related to sales orders that you have been personally assigned to or created. These notifications relate to sales that you have made within the SQUIZZ.com platform.
     
  • Personal Space Notifications
    Notifications related to spaces that you have been personally assigned to or created yourself. These notifications allow you to stay informed when changes are made to spaces that you are involved in or manage. Each space allows one or more people to customise the layout of areas and data, making it easier for people to collaborate on projects, tasks, or any areas of importance. When these actions occur and you are assigned to a space you will receive these notifications about these actions.

Organisation Notifications

Organisation notifications advise you of notifications associated to organisations that you are allowed to receive on behalf of. Additionally organisation notifications may relate to your professional working life, such as receiving notifications about conversations where you are talking as an employee. You will typically only receive organisation notifications when you are connected to one or more organisations that have allowed to receive the organisation's notifications, based on permissions granted by the organisation.

Notification Categories

Organisation notifications a spread across the following categories:

  • Organisation Contact Notifications
    Notifications that relate to people connecting with an organisation that you are allowed to accept connections for.
     
  • Organisation Notifications
    Notifications associated with organisations and people interacting with organisations that you have permission to see and manage. These notifications include requests for organisations and people to connect with your organisations, issues/reports/enquiries submitted for your organisations, plus several other notifications associated to an organisation.
     
  • Organisation Conversation Notifications
    Notifications related to conversations you are professionally involved in on an employment basis. These notifications include adding you to conversations, new messages being posted within a conversation, people uploading attachment files to a conversation, as well as people liking or acknowledging ("ACK") your conversation messages. These organisation conversation notifications will appear when you have assigned an organisation to the conversation to denote that you are talking as an employee of that organisation. In order to receive these notifications you must be connected to an organisation as an employee.
     
  • Organisation Feed Notifications
    Notifications related to news and feeds that you are assigned to manage for chosen organisations. These notifications advise of new posts that have been posted within organisation feeds, any comments or activity made on posts and comments that have been added to an organisation's feed.
     
  • Organisation Basket Notifications
    Notifications associated to baskets that you have created on behalf of organisations that you are allowed to purchase on behalf of.
     
  • Organisation Account Notifications
    Notifications associated with customer accounts and supplier accounts of organisation's that you are allowed to see notifications of.
     
  • Organisation Purchase Order Notifications
    Notifications related to purchase orders that have been assigned to or created for connected organisations that you are allowed to see. These notifications relate to purchases that organisations have made within the SQUIZZ.com platform.
     
  • Organisation Sales Order Notifications
    Notifications related to sales orders that you have been assigned to or created for your connected organisations that you are allowed to see. These notifications relate to sales that organisations made within the SQUIZZ.com platform.
     
  • Organisation Space Notifications
    Notifications related to spaces of an organisation that you are connected to. These notifications allow you to stay informed when changes are made to spaces, when the space is assigned to an organisation that you are connected to. Each space allows one or more people to customise the layout of areas and data, making it easier for people to collaborate on projects, tasks, or any areas of importance that are linked to organisations. When these actions occur and a space is assigned to an organisation's person group that you are assigned to, you will receive notifications about these actions.

External Business System and Software Notifications

Besides receiving organisations notifications generated from within the SQUIZZ.com platform, the platform also allows software external to the SQUIZZ.com platform to push in notifications into the platform. When this occurs these external software systems may place notifications within any of the organisation notification categories.

Unread and Read Notifications

Each notification will be marked as "Unread" when initially viewed, and be coloured to show that you have not read the notification yet. 

Marking A Notification As Read

You can mark each notification as being read by manually clicking on the "Read" link at the bottom of the notification, or by clicking on a link or button within the notification which will cause the notification to be marked as read.

Marking A Notification As Unread

At any time you can mark a notification as being unread again by clicking on the "Unread" link at the bottom of the notification. You may wish to keep notifications marked as unread so that you can follow up the notification's details at a later date.

How To View A Notification

To view a notification perform the following steps:

  1. Login to the SQUIZZ.com platform from the Home page or mobile app.
  2. On the home page within the Primary Navigation menu, click on a number that contains either a grey, yellow or white circle around it. If it contains a yellow circle then the notifications menu being opened contains new notifications that personally relate to you. If the number contains a grey circle then the notifications menu being opened contains new notifications that relate to an organisation that you are connected to. If the number is grey then it denotes that you have already looked notification menu and no new notifications will appear since you last looked at the menu.
  3. The notifications menu will display for the menu category that the number is against. For example if you click on a notification number in the Me column in the Contacts row, then you will be looking at notifications that are associated with contacts that you are making or already have on the platform.

 

Once a notification menu is opened you will see all the notifications related to that aspect of your life on the platform. The notification number will become greyed out to denote that you have now seen the notifications for that category. Each notification record will contain a yellow background to show that you have not read the notification. Once you click the Read link on the notification then the background will change to show that you have read the notification. For some notifications the background colour may change once you interact with any content in the notification, such as pressing a button or link.

Note that the notifications are not deletable, and you are limited to marking the notifications as having been read.

How To Receive/Stop Receiving A Notification Summary Email

Within the SQUIZZ.com platform there is the ability for you to receive an email that contains a summary of the unread notification counts waiting for you to view. Receiving this email allows you to be alerted when activity occurs in the SQUIZZ.com platform without having to be logged in. The Notification Summary Email contains the same list of notification counts and categories that appear within the squizz.com platform's Main Navigation menu.

The Notifications Summary email can be sent to you either daily, weekly, monthly, or never. You can control this by changing the Receive Notification Summary Email personal setting within the SQUIZZ.com platform, or from the email itself. To change these settings follow these steps:

  1. Login to the SQUIZZ.com platform from the Home page or mobile app.
  2. On the home page click on your Profile Image in the top menu to open the Personal Options menu.
  3. Click on the Personal Options menu item.
  4. Within the Personal Options menu change the Receive Notification Summary Email drop down to one of the values:
    1. Daily - You wish to receive daily emails when one or more unread notification counts exists
    2. Weekly - You wish to receive weekly emails when one or more unread notification counts exists
    3. Monthly - You wish to receive monthly emails when one or more unread notification counts exists
    4. Never - You wish to receive no notification summary emails
  5. Set the Receive Notifications setting to Email Address if you wish to receive email notifications, or set to No if you don't want the platform sending you any non essential emails, including the Notifications Summary email.
  6. Click the Save button at the bottom of the dialog.

Or Alternatively from the Notification Summary Email itself click on the of the links at the bottom of the email:

  1. Daily - You wish to receive daily emails when one or more unread notification counts exists
  2. Weekly - You wish to receive weekly emails when one or more unread notification counts exists
  3. Monthly - You wish to receive monthly emails when one or more unread notification counts exists
  4. Never - You wish to receive no notification summary emails

After saving the setting the next time the platform generates the notification summary emails, it will send out the notification based on the frequency you have specified. Note that you can also change the Receive Notification Summary Email setting by clicking on Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Never links within email itself.
